April Trends in Silicon Valley home prices

It’s been a busy month for me and for the real estate market, overall.  Here’s a look at Silicon Valley home prices and how they're trending through the end of April 2016.

Home Price Leaders

Several communities saw double-digit increases in home prices in April compared with April a year ago.  Significant increases were seen in:

• Menlo Park 19% • San Carlos 15% • San Jose 12% • Portola Valley 10%

We also had increases on homes in Los Altos (7%), Sunnyvale (7%), Cupertino (5%), Atherton (2%), Palo Alto (1%) and Los Altos Hills (1%).

The median home price for April in Mountain View dropped 4%; Redwood City saw a 1% decrease.
