The Mountain Winery in Saratoga is getting ready to kick off another amazing summer concert series, featuring a huge list of top performers and wide variety of musical styles. Here are a few examples from the Silicon Valley music event schedule that runs from May 22 through October 10, 2015.
Brian Wilson, June 18: The Beach Boys’ founder has been going solo for a number of years. In June he brings his distinctive sound and stylings to the winery and will surely include many songs from his new album “No Pier Pressure” as well as Beach Boys classics.
Willie Nelson, June 22: Willie is 82 years old now, and virtually every show he performs these days draws large numbers of people who want to experience this true music legend at least once in their lifetimes. Now is your time to catch an unforgettable show.
Harry Connick Jr., July 14/15: With 28 million album sales worldwide, Harry has become a musical institution. Lovers of cool jazz done like few others can won’t want to miss these two special appearances.
Boston, July 30: One of the most popular bands of the 1970s is sure to stage a rocking show for this Silicon Valley music event at the Mountain Winery. The 2015 tour lineup features many new names, but at the helm is still master guitarist and founder Tom Scholz.
Sheryl Crow, Aug. 4/5: The amazing Sheryl Crow will unveil a show in early August that will likely be hard to forget. This nine-time Grammy winner is comfortable with most any style of music and has been one of America’s most popular singers for years.
Heart, August 26: Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson are still going strong after 40 years. Band members have come and gone, but Ann and Nancy have always been the creative core for hits like “Crazy On You,” “Barracuda,” and “Magic Man.”
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Sept. 5: If you grew up with Frankie’s music, or if you simply want to see this renowned artist perform, here’s your chance. His music has stood the test of time as he entertains audiences of all ages with his memorable soft rock selections.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sept. 15: The band that emerged from Jacksonville, Fla., and put southern rock on the map in the 1970s is still bringing its unique sound to audiences everywhere. Make sure to bring your Bic lighters for the requisite playing of their biggest hit “Freebird.” Here's a performance of this iconic song from 2003:
And all that’s just a start. Other bands and artists slated for this summer-long (and into the fall!) Silicon Valley music event include KC and the Sunshine Band, Peter Frampton, George Thorogood, Boz Scaggs, Lyle Lovett, Blondie, Pat Benatar and many others.
